Why We Love It
Edmonton, Alberta's Capital, is split in half by the North Saskatchewan River and is known for its outdoor adventure and family-friendly attractions. It is home to farmers markets, outdoor festivals, street fairs, costumed historical interpretations, water activities, golf courses, Elk Island National Park, and Fort Edmonton Park - a living history museum focusing on its European past.
Free (or Almost Free) Stuff To Do
An eclectic street in Old Strathcona filled with buildings, restaurants, cafes, bars, and quaint shops.
|North Saskatchewan River Valley|
A continuous "ribbon of green" along the North Saskatchewan river home to parks, trails, festivals, and lakes. Activities: bike, canoe/kayak, golf, SUP, walk/run.
|Elk Island National Park|
A reserve dedicated to protecting the declining elk populations. Also home to other wildlife, you just may get stuck in a bison traffic jam while driving through the park! Activities: bike, camp, canoe/kayak, golf, hike.
